Dry Needling
What is Dry Needling?
Dry Needling is a technique that involves the use of thin, dry needles (no injections) to stimulate muscles, release tension, improve blood flow, and decrease pain.

Why is Dry Needling superior to massage?
Needles allow your therapist to reach deep layers of tissues that are hard to reach with hands. While massage is relaxing, it is also completely passive. Dry Needling acts as a neuromuscular reset for the body. By stimulating a twitch response in the muscles, we are not only releasing areas of tension but teaching the muscles how to properly contract and relax. Dry needling can further be combined with electrical stimulation to force greater twitch responses and improve nerve impulses to weak or inhibited muscles.
Benefits of Dry Needling:
-
Immediate improvement in tension and mobility
-
Immediate improvement in muscle firing and stability
-
Useful for diagnostics secondary to immediate effects
-
Aids in tissue recovery after activity
-
Pain reduction

Is Dry Needling safe?
Yes! Dry Needling is extremely safe. As with any needle, there is potential for bleeding and bruising at the site of insertion. If you are pregnant, have a bleeding disorder, have an active infection or tumor, or have an aversion to needles, we do not recommend Dry Needling.
