FAQs

01.

DIRECT ACCESS

Do you provide direct access?

Yes! Direct access means patients may come directly to physical therapy without needing a prescription from their doctor. This allows for immediate care. Medicare patients, however, are required to be under the care of their physician, so a prescription is needed for Medicare insurance reimbursement.

2ND OPINION

Physical Therapy did not help me in the past. How are you different?

No two patients are alike, and no two providers are alike. At Pure Movement, we schedule longer appointment times to allow for more testing, listening, collaboration, and improved differential diagnosis. Often patients are not given sufficient time to tell their whole story, and pieces of the puzzle are missed. If you have not had success with PT in the past, we encourage you to contact us for a discounted 2nd opinion visit. If we are unable to help, we will work with you to determine what other specialists and testing is needed to allow for a full recovery.

BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION

What is blood flow restriction training?

Blood flow restriction (BFR) is a training technique used to build muscle strength and mass without the need for heavy weights. BFR has the same physiological effect on our body as lifting heavy, allowing patients to safely speed up recovery during rehab. Research has also shown BFR's ability to speed up fracture healing by 25%.
