Manual Therapy
What is Manual Therapy?
Manual Therapy involves hands on-techniques to help resolve tight tissues, decrease pain in muscles and joints, and restore mobility in dysfunctional areas of the body. Sessions focus on one main body region and extend to other areas that may be contributing to dysfunction.

How does this differ from Massage Therapy?
Manual Therapy is not a "feel good" treatment. It is completed with purpose, to not only make you feel better, but move more efficiently. If you have tightness that never seems to resolve with massage or stretching, it's possible the wrong tissues have been targeted. Maybe your shoulder tightness is driven by thoracic spine restrictions. Maybe your hamstring tightness is driven by lack of neural mobility. Maybe your neck tension is due to poor pelvic alignment. All of these issues can be fixed when addressed the right way.

How are appointments scheduled?
Manual Therapy appointments may be booked individually or included in physical therapy sessions. Individual appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes with the option to extend as needed. It is recommended to schedule the first appointment as an "Initial Evaluation" to allow for a full assessment as well as treatment.
